Thomas WIESMANN

Since 2021, Prof. Dr. Thomas Wiesmann serves as the Head of the Dept. of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine at the Diak Hospital in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany.
Before this, his academic track at the University Hospital in Marburg (Germany) made him familiar with a broad spectrum of methodology (basic science, animal lab studies, doing RCTs as well as meta-analysis and registry analysis) as well as performing clinical work in all parts of the hospital's population.
Thomas is a critical believer in evidence-based medicine, skeptical if new blocks are really improving patient care (or only serving the wellbeing of the performing anaesthetist) and fascinated about the curiosities in chronic pain therapy.
He is the German representative at the ESRA council and the vice-chair of the German RA task force of the German National society of Anesthesiology (DGAI)
