Dr Kassiani Theodoraki graduated from the Medical School, University of Athens, Greece. She holds the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC) by the European Society of Anaesthesiology. After the completion of her anesthetic training in Greece, she trained at Guy’s & Saint Thomas Hospital of London doing lots of obstetric anaesthesia and since 2004 she has had an academic appointment in the Aretaieion University Hospital, University of Athens Medical School, currently as Professor in Anaesthesiology.
She is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the Athens University Medical School. She is a certified Instructor of the Simulation Team of the Greek Anaesthesiology Society, she teaches in tutorials and lectures in Scientific Meetings in the annual Greek Postgraduate Courses for candidates for the European Diploma of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care and in the Greek Division of the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia. She a member of ESRA Europe Council as the Greek Representative and she is actively involved in research and clinical work in the field of obstetric anaesthesia having given relevant lectures at national and international meetings.
